The medium to full-bodied 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape is a blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, 15% Syrah and 5% Cinsault. Attractive scents of cumin, clove, leather and cherries appear on the nose, while the palate is silky-textured, with fine-grained tannins lingering gently on the finish. Not overly rich, ripe or extracted, it strikes an elegant, balanced pose for drinking over the next 8-9 years. WA
