(54% tempranillo, 29% cabernet sauvignon, 6% merlot, 5% syrah, 2% petit verdot, 2% cabernet franc and 2% malbec, all aged in French oak for 18 months): Ruby-red. Intense aromas of dark berries and cherry compote are brightened by suave floral and spice nuances. Fleshy and broad, with very good depth to its black raspberry, floral pastille and cola flavors. A smoky note comes up with air and adds bite to the long, spicy, youthfully tannic finish. Give this wine a few years of rest.

The 2010 QS is Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon, with small percentages of other French grapes, fermented and aged in oak barrels for 18 months. Because of the way it’s produced, it has a light reductive character and benefits from time in the glass. It starts showing aromatics from Cabernet after about ten minutes, while keeping the Ribera del Duero personality, with herbal tones like the freshness of cassis.
