From 70 year-old vines planted in the rugged black schist soil. 70% Grenache, 30% Syrah. Jean-Marc is aiming for a slightly different style here. Aiming to tame the firm tannins of the rugged terroir, he harvests the grapes later than normal, which he finds gives the wine a soft texture and a fine finish. I can’t disagree! The wine is at once rich and sumptuous, dare I say hedonistic, yet has a surprising elegance on the long, smooth finish
